What better way to learn about Alpro than to hear it from our people? We’re proud of what they say and we look forward to you having your say in the future.

Grégory - Operator in our plant in Issenheim (France).

"There’s a great team atmosphere in all the Alpro manufacturing plants"

Grégory started working in our Issenheim factory in September 2001. He combined his studies with a part-time job with Alpro. After getting his degree in 2003, he went for a full-time job as a technician.
Grégory: "In 2001, I made a deliberate choice to work with Alpro. I find it’s great to work in a factory that uses the latest technology and makes innovative products. When I started, I got a lot of on-the-job training that allowed me to grow. At times, I also got some external training. What is good, is not just what you learn, but also the close contact with colleagues from other departments. This spreads the team spirit across teams. There’s a great team atmosphere in all the Alpro manufacturing sites. Even when I started as a trainee, I always got the impression that people treated me as a true member of the team."

Steve - Team Leader Production - Kettering (UK)

"Working at Alpro is being part of a winning team."

Steve joined Alpro in March 2000, bringing to the company 20 years experience and a strong understanding of the food processing industry. He is responsible for controlling a shift of 12 staff, maintaining quality, hitting planned targets and reacting quickly to unforeseen breakdowns.
Steve:" When I started in 2000, I was trained in France and Belgium whilst the factory was being built in Kettering. As a team leader, my biggest challenge is reducing unplanned downtime. I have achieved a certificate of Team Leadership, standardising the way of thinking, acting and working. I also attended Health and Safety courses, a function I now look after for the production department. I enjoy the challenges Alpro brings me, in respect of new product innovation, installations and the growth plans for the future. I feel a valued member of the team and welcome the communication across all departments both in the UK and Europe. Working at Alpro means being part of a winning team, we are the market leader and it is great to be part of the success story, present and future."

Delphine - Secretary with the Research & Development Department.

"Communication is open at Alpro, and you earn trust when you do your job well."

Delphine joined us in 1998, almost immediately after leaving studies. She started as a secretary for the Quality Control and R&D divisions. Alpro's rapid growth increased the workload, leading her to choose between the services. Delphine opted for the R&D department.
Delphine: " I have always appreciated that I could choose which department I wanted to work with. I chose R&D as the work is always challenging and you’re in constant contact with new things. I also appreciate that I’m given a lot of freedom by my manager. It feels good to know that people trust you, and I do all I can to not let this trust go. There’s a great atmosphere in our department. If someone has something to say, they can do so openly, motivating the team. This open communication is an Alpro trademark: not only within our team but also in the monthly information about management issues and the financial results. This means that you can provide service for the people you work with as you know what’s important."

Tom - Leading Hand in our factory in Wevelgem (Belgium).

"Alpro is a nice place to work, where attention is paid to the person behind the employee."

Tom began in 2004 as SMF operator bricks and in 2008 he became Leading Hand Bricks. As Leading Hand Bricks he supports the Team Leader when planning and following up the production.
"When I started in 2004 as SMF Operator I was carefully coached the first six months by a godparent that taught me my job. I immediately had the feeling that the group accepted me. This job was an extremely varied job with enough independence. I also received the opportunity to follow diverse internal and external training sessions. This enabled me to ascend to the position of Leading Hand in 2008. What actually appeals to me the most at Alpro is the humane atmosphere. Employees are listened to. If you have ideas, you can approach the boss, who really does something with them. The atmosphere between colleagues is good and sometimes we do teambuilding events which improve the atmosphere even more."

Dirk - Commercial Manager in our commercial organisation in Izegem (Belgium).

"Working together to ensure a sustainable future".

Dirk joined Alpro in 2003 as a Sales Manager. In 2005 he was responsible for the development of the new commercial organisation in the Netherlands. Since the beginning of 2008 he has led the commercial organisation in Belgium.
"To work at Alpro is to contribute to the growth of the enterprise, both in the area of the business by creating new opportunities and by building up our employees who are responsible for realising our daily successes. At Alpro you find a close-knit team. We stand shoulder to shoulder and support, challenge and motivate each other to achieve better results in line with the company’s values. The enterprise’s basic pillars are sustainable development, respect for the planet and for each other. Everyone feels actively involved in contributing to a better world by developing healthy products that meet the needs of contemporary consumers. We are stimulated to take initiatives and expand our frontiers. Sometimes literally. In my first job at Alpro as Sales Manager I was responsible for the development of the brand in Italy, Israel and Switzerland. After a short period in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe I was asked to start up new Alpro activities in the Netherlands. I returned to Belgium at the beginning of 2008 and took on the management of the Belgian commercial organisation. It is a very enriching experience to give direction with regard to growth and development in different countries and to work towards the same goal together with strong employees… working on our future, a sustainable future, day after day, in an enterprise whose values are still important and whose employees make the difference".

Ellis – Marketing Manager in our commercial organisation in Breda (the Netherlands)

”I really enjoy working for a brand that really stands for something”

In 2001 Ellis joined Alpro as a Product Manager. Over the years Alpro has grown strongly in the Netherlands so the organisation was adjusted appropriately. Ellis grew in this organisation and received increasingly more responsibilities in her position. She is currently Marketing Manager responsible for all marketing activities at Alpro® soya in the Netherlands.
“After seven years, I am still not bored working at Alpro. There are challenges to allow Alpro to grow further in the Netherlands. As a marketeer, I see which products and means of communication are needed. In my team we develop campaigns that are aimed at introducing Alpro® soya to as many people in our target group as possible. There is a real interaction with the Alpro headquarters in Belgium. I receive a lot of freedom to execute the marketing plans for the Netherlands. In addition I can think along when an international campaign is developed. Several times a year I see my colleague marketeers from other countries and we exchange our experiences and ideas. Those meetings always fill me with lots of energy and inspiration.
I’m very happy to work for a brand that really stands for something. At Alpro we make delicious and healthy products. Sustainability is a concept that is in Alpro’s DNA. It takes responsibility for protecting humans, nature and the environment.
Last year the Netherlands gained a few new colleagues and this has resulted in a new dynamic in our team. I love the open company culture, with short lines to the management team. In short, Alpro is a company that is on the move and I’m happy to make my contribution!"

Christian - Sales Service Manager in Düsseldorf (Germany).

"It's fun being part of the Alpro team."

Christian began in 2003 as a student trainee in the Marketing Department. In 2004 he joined the company as a sales service assistant and in 2007 became Sales Service Manager. As Sales Service Manager, he supports the sales team in its selling activity.
For me, it's the three Ps - people, profit, planet - that make Alpro a very special company. Of course, we want to make a profit but that's not the only company objective. Sustainable development is more than just a catchword at Alpro. "SD“ is practised in our everyday work. And I've been able to see for myself that, alongside the customers, the employees are also highly valued. I, for example, am now Sales Service Manager for the company with which I started as a student trainee not so long ago. Our Sales Service team acts as the interface between the business customers and various internal departments. And I'm particularly motivated by the excellent cooperation with colleagues from various special fields. It's fun being part of the Alpro team; we strive our hardest to be successful in it and it's not every man for himself. We can be proud of the great performance that we produce as a team!
